The Quest Newspaper Group will run a Lucky Reader Prize ( A Painting kindly donated by John and Ann Brigden (Value $3000.00) in the Bayside Herald during the Exhibition.

The Redcliffe Art Society Inc and the Golden Ox Restaurant are running the largest ever open Art prize Competition (Including a Youth Award) held in Redcliffe Qld, sponsored by the Redcliffe and district Business Community. This historic and prestigious art contest is set become a bi-annual "Charity Event" supporting charity organizations in our region.

Prize Categories Entrants must nominate an award category for each entry. All works will be automatically entered in the Major Award and the Peoples Choice Award as well as their selected categories. The Major Award is acquisitive. The work judged, the Major Award winner will become the property of the Redcliffe Art Society Inc. Award Prizes are cash, unless otherwise stated.

RAS GOLDEN OX OPEN ART AWARDS 9 July 2010 - 22 July 2010 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Please read these conditions carefully as no refunds will be
made for works incorrectly or ineligibly submitted for these
awards
2. ELIGIBILITY
- a. The RAS Golden Ox Open Art Awards is open to all permanent Australian residents. An entrant may be required to provide the committee proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency status. (Refer to item 11 and 12).
- b. The Fred Stolz Youth Award is open to entrants under the age of 18 years. (Refer to item 12).
3. ENTRY AND SELECTION - a. All entries will be subject to a pre-selection process. Selected works will be exhibited.
- b. All entries must be accompanied by a CD, clearly labeled with artist's name and title of work, containing:
- i. A high resolution jpeg format file of the artwork
indicating vertical or horizontal orientation. - ii. An artist's statement about the work in ‘Word' doc format (max 65 words).
- iii. Artist's biographical statement in ‘Word' doc format (max 65 words).
4. In addition the Committee requires: - a. A printout of the image file of A4 size
- b. A printout of the artist's statement about the work (max 65 words)
- c. A printout of the artist's biographical statement (max 65 words)
- d. A printout of CV, optional (no word limit)
5. All entries will be seen by the Judge(s). The decision of the
Judge(s) is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. The entry fee for an adult is $35 per work, for a junior is $20
per work and can be paid by cash, cheque or money order,
payable to the Redcliffe Art Society Inc. The entry fee is non-
refundable. This also applies to works not delivered on time,
or rejected on delivery for any reason, or not selected for
exhibition.
7. Entry form, CD (Section3b) and paper documentation (Section
4) must be sent to RAS, PO Box 69, Redcliffe 4020, and
received by 4pm on 28th April 2010.
8. Entrants may enter a total of two works, provided each work
is in separate award categories. Both works may be put on
one CD.
9. Entrants must nominate an award category for each entry. All
works will be automatically entered in the Open Prize, peoples
choice award as well as selected award categories.The open
(Major) prize winner is not eligible for its nominated award
category prize.
10. Entries must be the original works, completed after
1stJanuary 2009 and not previously entered in any other
competition.
11. Form 1 entrants must be over 18 years of age as of 28 April,
2010.
12. Form 2 entrants must be under the age of 18 years as
of 28th April, 2010.
13. Work sizes: - a. Maximum size must not exceed 1.1metre in either direction, including frame.
- b. Minimum size must not be less .6 metre in either direction, including frame.
- c. Works outside these sizes will not be accepted.
14. PHOTOGRAPY - a. Photographic printsmust be no larger than 51cmx41cm or smaller than 25cmx20cm, including the mount. Prints must be mounted on strongmount-board only, no thicker than 4mm.
- b. Photographic images or parts there of, must beoriginal works of the entrant Images may be digitallymanipulated, however no CGI is allowed.
15. Sale price or title of artworks will not be altered after
28 April 2010. NO EXCEPTIONS.
16. All works selected for exhibition will be listed on the RAS
website after 4pm on 30th May at
http://www.redcliffeartsociety.com/.
17. Each entrant will be notified by email in early June.
18. WORKS SELECTED FOR EXHIBITION - a.Selected works can be personally delivered on
Wednesday 7th July between 9 and 11am at the
GoldenOx, 330Oxley Avenue, Margate.
- b.Works delivered by commercial couriers will be
accepted between 9am and 3pm on Monday 5th July
(or the preceding week by arrangement - ring
38894952) to RAS Studio, Upper Floor, The
Redcliffe Community Association Building,
Lamington Drive, Redcliffe. - c. Entries must be framed (a stretch canvas is
considered framed) and have D rings attached 75mm
from top edge, plus a hanging wire one third of the
way down from the top edge. Wet paintings will not
be accepted.
- d. All works must have a swing tag and be clearly
marked with the entrant's name, telephone number,
Title of work, prize category and price.
- e.All works shall be for sale. A commission of 25% (inc
GST) will be deducted by RAS from the selling price of
each work sold.
- f.The Major Artwork Award will be acquisitive in
exchange for the prize. This artwork shall become
the property of the Redcliffe Art Society Inc.
- g.If works are to be delivered and/or collected by
an authorized agent or courier, please provide
the agent or courier with complete details including
the name, address and telephone number of the
exhibitor and the title of the work. It is not the
responsibility of RAS to arrange for collection of
works. - h. Entrants are responsible for organizing transport of
their works including insurance, couriers and
transport charges.
- i.Entrants are responsible for maintaining their own
insurance coverage. RAS and Golden Ox will
exercise reasonable care but will not be
responsible for any loss or damage to submitted
work while in their custody.
- j.Works must be collected from the Golden Ox
between 10am and 12noon on Friday 23rd July.
- k.Works not collected by 3pm on 30th July 2010 willattract
a late collection fee of $5 plus an extra
penalty of $5 per day, payable on collection.
- l. Works not collected within 14 days of 23rd July 2010
will be disposed of at the discretion of RAS.
19. RAS reserves the right to use images of works exhibited in
the RAS Golden Ox Open Art Awards for the purpose of
documentation and promotion. All necessary
acknowledgements of authorship will be duly made.
20. All personal information gathered by RAS will be used solely
for the purpose of administering the Redcliffe Art Society
